Urard Gem enjoying red box advantage in Balkan Derby A1 525 at Shelbourne Park

Wednesday?s Balkan Derby A1 525 at Shelbourne Park has attracted six speedy hounds, but unfortunately none is in special form. Every participant has one or two questions to answer, and it has made the situation really tough for the bettors.

In such circumstances, Urard Gem deserves preference. The black dog is standing in the red box, looking good to take an early lead. If any inside crowding takes place, it will enhance his chances significantly.

His recent figures are not bad all at. On his latest outing at the open level, the black dog managed to finish among top-3. It was not a disgraceful loss, as he ran superbly behind a couple of very strong rivals.

Stepping down to this class is likely to work as a morale booster for the big fellow. The draw is another mega plus. So, P. Buckley?s charge seems to have many things going for him. He just needs to unleash his best to earn ?400 ? the reserved cash prize for the victor.

Other contenders are: Hanover Laddie, Burberry Bucks, Ballymac Brian, Gizmo Classic and Bit Of Action. The clash is due to start at 21:12 GMT.

Hanover Laddie is also a dangerous hound. The black dog is trying to settle down in this class after being baldy trounced at the top level. He faced an unlucky loss on his return to this company in mid September, when Mahogany Boy pushed him down to the fifth spot. There are no questions over his potential though.

Ballymac Brian showed good rhythm when demoted to this class at the end of last month. It is unsure whether he will be able to continue his progress at this venue.

Bit Of Action recently won an open race at Dundalk, but his form at this track is not good. The wounds of Burberry Bucks? beating at the top level are still fresh. Gizmo Classic is another stepping down on the grading ladder in search of glory.

Hanover Laddie?s form is a huge concern. So, it is better to stick with Urard Gem, who can do well at this level. Good luck to all the hounds.
