Do dating sites help those who need them most? |

Do dating sites help those who get fewer dates off-line or do they simply make it even easier for those who are popular already?

Harvard Business School Associate Professor Mikolaj Piskorski has studied this during the last five years and says, ?If you?re asking whether these sites help the people who need the most help to communicate, the answer is that it really depends on the individual site and the functionality it provides. We have incredible amount of control in structuring these online environments and we should use this power to meet social needs of those who cannot get them met elsewhere.?

It seems he?s found that the results for on-line dating sites tend to mirror off-line dating. I?m not sure why it took five years to discover this, or why a book needs to be written about the subject. The fact remains, and always will, that the most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes have more options.
