The Sandy Ford Sportsman's Club was opened by President Mike Sineni Aug. 16. Secretary Dick Clark read the minutes and Barry Koppen read the treasurer's report.

The Hunter Safety Course will be Saturday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Aug. 26. Contact Jerry O'Kraski at 815-672-6964 or 815-257-6964 for more information. The course is full and no more applicants will be accepted.
Sunday, Sept. 2, will be the final 3D archery shoot. Help will be needed for set up and tear down. For more information, contact Dick Clark at 815-433-1884.
The Fall Dinner will be chaired by Jim and Cheri Ripple and be on Saturday, Sept. 8. Anyone needing work hours, this is a good event to get them. The culvert on the road to the shooting range has been installed. Work also was done on the backstops of the pistol and rifle range.
Gary Riss and Rodney Vogel have been selected as new board members. There will be a dues increase of $15 beginning in January. A sponsor of an existing member also will be necessary to join the club starting in January.
If using a GPS to locate the lake property or the clubhouse, the coordinates are as follows: the clubhouse is at 1368 N. 18th Road, Streator; and the lake property is at 1451 E. 21st Road, Streator.
Members joining the club are Daniel Jackson, James Arwood, Tom Bednar, Frank Marack, David Smith and Patrick Dittmar.
